Andrew Aué, The Artist

Written by Andrew Aue, translated by Matthijs van Eijk, adapted by Nicole Storms - Author of “The Effervescent Frank Lloyd Wright”.

Andrew was born in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) in 1963 and has Indonesian roots.

He started drawing at a young age. However, it was not until 1987 when he started using his talents in a professional way. That specific year Andrew commenced his education via a teacher’s training college.

Today, Andrew is involved in education, for 30 years. His drive for innovation, renewal and improvement became immediately visible.

Andrew helped structuring various new educational courses, he laid the foundations for many successful projects and knows how to ”out” the best out of creative people.

In 2009 he was awarded the title of “Coach of The Year” by ”Schooltv” (NTR) and Kennisnet.

Andrew is a versatile man and has developed into various directions, like: acrylic paint on linen, aquarelles, printing techniques, bronze and silver work, and textile design. He is also actively involved as a designer, author and product designer.

Various educational institutions are the proud owners of Aué-designed furniture. Several commercial companies possess a bronze statue and/or a stained glass object.

In 2003 Andrew’s children’s book “Too en Neeltje” was published. By 2010 his first study books - which contain the inspiring method of learning art (“VONC”) - and the practical book on how to handle projects (“Projectbeheer”) were introduced.

Andrew creates “TheatreArt”.

The London Musical Theatre has been Andrew’s focal point for decades now.

To him theatre is an art form in which every individual recognizes himself/herself and one can truly relive one’s emotions simply by attending a stage performance.

His creative thoughts are always in motion, ….. thus new possibilities ahead, he says.

Andrew’s first exhibit was in Maasland in 1990, Ever since his work drew significant attention in plural exhibitions and cities in The Netherlands and in 2014 at the Chelsea Gallery in London.

His new TheatreArt exhibition started at the internationally renowned company Zuidkoop Natural Projects, De Lier - The Netherlands on the 2nd of April. The exhibition will visit London from the 2nd of August till the 14th of August 2016. An addition to the TheatreArt concept is T.A.M. (TheatreArt Music), a group of young talented theatre performers. TheatreArt 2016 is a combination of art and music!
